Cost Effective – not only does asphalt pavement have the lowest initial cost when compared to other alternative pavement products, but its’ life cycle cost (when measured over the entire life of the pavement) are also lower than other competitive pavement products.

Speed of Construction – asphalt pavements constructed during the day are normally ready to have traffic the next day. This allows better access to adjacent businesses and improved traffic flow through and around the projects reducing user delay while continuing to construct the project.

Smooth – asphalt pavements are the smoothest pavements placed in the country today.

Versatile – asphalt pavements can be tailored to the specific application during the design phase of the project allowing for the unique characteristics of each project. Design life from 5 years to in excess of 30 years can be accommodated easily. For cost sensitive projects staged construction can be a viable design alternative with asphalt concrete pavements as a way to accommodate increased traffic flow while remaining sensitive to the structural integrity of the pavement.

Sustainable – Asphalt pavements are 100% recyclable; in fact, asphalt is the most recycled material in the country. Pavements constructed with recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and recycled asphalt shingles (RAS), often produced using warm mix technology, are clearly environmentally sustainable for the benefit of all citizens, today and tomorrow.

WHY choose Advanced for your paving needs? Because experience counts! We inspect the following closely

Drainage – Make sure that your finished pavement will slope at least 1/4 inch per foot. You must have positive drainage on top of the blacktop.

SubGrade – The subgrade is the soil beneath your driveway. Different soils have widely different strength characteristics. We make sure there is good compaction before we bring in the base. If you have soil which is poorly drained when wet, you should give serious consideration to installing drain tile beneath the base. This drain tile will help to keep water from softening the soil and spoiling the base.

Base – The Foundation – The base, or foundation of an asphalt driveway is the key to a crack resistant surface. The base and the soil beneath it do all the work in supporting the loads which will be placed on the driveway. We used crushed limestone also called CA6 or road rock. It is a minimum of 6 inches thick. It can be up to 8 to10 inches in thickness, depending upon what type of vehicles will be on the driveway. You should always build the driveway for the heaviest vehicle which will be placed upon it. The little bit of extra money you spend on the thicker base will be worth it.
